The purpose of this page of the CDDIS web site is to post new items, activities, data sets, etc. of interest to the CDDIS user community. Users should also consult the calendar to view a list of upcoming meetings and events of interest to the space geodesy community.

New S/C Codes for Ephemerides Files (01-Feb-2007)

A new list of s/c codes to be used in the formation of ephemerides files for exchange with others has been generated. This list supersedes the one previously used by the IGS LEO community and maintained by Henno Boomkamp. The new list is the product of extensive discussions with representatives from all affected services (IGS, ILRS, and IDS), the LEO group, and the SP3 format group. We have maintained backward compatibility with the previous version and tried to streamline the list in terms of grouping s/c, whenever possible, by type and in order of launch date. The location of this new list on the CDDIS web site is: http://cddis.gsfc.nasa.gov/sp3c_satlist.html. The list contains remarks that explain the various fields and the notation, as well as guidelines for users in need of assigning a code to a new s/c. The list is maintained by Carey Noll (carey.noll@nasa.gov) to whom you should direct all requests and questions.
