Global Space Geodetic Site Information

The Geodetic and Geophysical Sites (GGS) Subcommission has prepared charts listing existing global fiducial or "fundamental" sites and the instruments collocated at each site. Sites on this list, at a minimum, possess the following attributes:

  1. A dedicated observing location with continuous operational plans for the foreseeable future.
  2. Existing, highly stabilized, observing, reference, and guest monuments.
  3. A high precision geodetic site survey.
  4. A permanent cadre of operating and maintenance personnel.
  5. Security.
  6. Reliable power.
  7. An efficient site data collection and transmission system.

The charts are have been divided into four parts for ease of display and navigation:

  1. covers sites A through F
  2. covers sites G through L
  3. covers sites M through R
  4. covers sites S through Z

These charts are also available in postscript and PDF form. The subcommission plans to update and maintain this site list. Any corrections, comments, or additions can be sent to Carey Noll at the address below.
